To be shown in the Hecla Gallery in Cockenzie in their Christmas Exhibition….these are mixed media pieces , from a series of around 20,- made of drawings, gouache paintings, ink, handmade paper etc, framed behind glass, and constructed (much like my oil paintings) with a sense of calm and order.( This is because I like the feeling of calm, still compositions!) Enjoyed the restricted palette, away from my usual vibrant coloured images, but missed the paint !! Below – “Teapot, Bowls and Patterns,” mixed media, 30 x 45 cms, and “Still Life with Bowls”, mixed media, 30 x 43cms

This year’s exhibition at Hopetoun House has another week to run . We were given the newly-re-furbished China Room this year. Perfect for displaying lots of new work and an exciting two weeks meeting people from all corners of the globe. Yesterday Ian spent around 40 minutes delivering what turned into a tutorial about glazes, temperatures and general firing issues with a keen visitor! Different every day and very enjoyable!
Today we finished setting up our exhibition of paintings and ceramics at Hopetoun House in the newly refurbished China Room, opens tomorrow but we are already weighed down with kind words and compliments – thank you !
POPPY FIELD, oil on board, image size 45 x 45cms plus mount and frame.
